Project (Summer 2020)

My work with the Ishii group centers around DigitSeis, a software for creating digitized traces from images of analog seismograms. Primarily, I am working to create and revise the documentation for DigitSeis v1.5 in preparation for its release. Because DigitSeis is a complex software with many unique features, it requires comprehensive documentation to allow for and promote its use by anyone interested in digitizing seismograms. In response to this need, I am creating and revising various materials, including manuals and tutorial videos, to facilitate effective use of DigitSeis v1.5.

Secondarily, I am using DigitSeis to create digitized traces as needed in other research within the group. The familiarity I have developed working with the software to create documentation has allowed me to effectively digitize images of analog seismograms where needed. In general, I am very interested in data management, and hope to apply that interest by contributing to organization and management of the very large archive of seismic data present as part of the HRV Seismogram Archival Project through work with DigitSeis and on its documentation.
