Jeroen Tromp

Professor of Geophysics

Professor Jeroen Tromp joined Harvard's Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences in 1992. His primary research area is theoretical global seismology. Research topics include the propagation of surface waves on isotropic and anisotropic Earth models, analysis of the splitting of the Earth's free oscillations, numerical simulations of 3-D wave propagation, and global tomography. In collaboration with Professor F.A. Dahlen from Princeton University he recently published the book "Theoretical Global Seismology".
