Meredith Nettles

Meredith is currently a post-doctoral research scientist at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. She was a graduate student in the Harvard seismology group. Her current research is focused on measurements and models of surface-wave propagation. In particular, she is working to develop a robust and well-constrained model of the radially anisotropic, 3-D shear velocity structure of the upper mantle under North America. She is also involved with the Harvard CMT project, and is working to improve and maintain systems for the efficient acquisition and processing of seismic waveforms in near-real time. Meredith maintains an active interest in the determination of earthquake source parameters, particularly with regard to seismo-tectonic interpretation.
