model BDAP2000

I obtained model BDAP2000 (AKA BDP00) by repeating the procedure that led to BDP98 on a data set assembled by Mike Antolik, with more accurate earthquake locations and a more realistic crustal correction. Model BDAP2000 differs from BDP98 mostly in the upper mantle, where BDAP2000 is better correlated to images obtained from surface wave measurements.

BDAP2000 is parameterized as BDP98 (1656 equal-area blocks X 15 layers). Above, 8 layers are shown, with their mean depth given at the upper left corner of each panel.

BDAP2000 is available, in the form of a gzipped file (where the value of the percent velocity perturbation is given for a fine grid of points, covering the entire mantle) through anonymous ftp at ftp.seismology.harvard.edu, directory users/boschi/BDP00.
