• What will be iGMT version 1.2 (new version) (as of 20070325)
  
  We are very slowly improving iGMT, mostly when we encounter missing features that we would like to use, or when nice folks point out bugs. We suggest that you try iGMT version 1.2 which has new features (see, e.g., the 360kB PDF version of a poster on stress data plotting); iGMT 1.2 supports GMT version 3.4.5 and 4.0. iGMT 1.2 has been very close to official release status for quite some time...   • igmt_v1.2-20070325.tar.gz (full distribution with data, 1.8MB gzip version),
  • igmt_v1.2_wo-20070325.tar (no frills, only source code, 320kB unzipped)
  The datestamp behind the name prefix indicates the last modification date, e.g. "-20001027" means October 27, 2000 (the first author's 30iest birthday). Last changes were made on 03/25/07.

• iGMT version 1.1 (old release)
  We recommend using the new version (pre 1.2) at this point. iGMT 1.1 was released as an update to iGMT1.0 in April 1999 (see the version history page for a list of changes). (All iGMT with versions larger or equal 1.1 are compatible with GMT versions 3.0 through 3.3, iGMT pre 1.2 starting from the Dec 2005 releases can deal with GMT 3.4.5 and 4.0). iGMT 1.1 has enhanced data handling routines, and writes much nicer script files than version 1.0. You can download the following packages:
  • igmt_v1.1.tar.gz: Approx 2.2MB big gnu-zipped tar file. Contains the Tcl/Tk source code, example input files, example plots, the documentation as a postscript file, and smaller datasets.
  • iGMT 1.1 no frills: Approx. 200kB big plain tar file. Contains all the sources but does not come with documentation and data sets.
• The Known problems page has been set up for possible incompatibilities, problems, and bugs in iGMT version 1.1.
