Supplementary Figure 2: Comparison of density and P velocity models obtained from different starting models

Correlation between the P and density models of SPRD6 (with P starting model P16B30 (Bolton, 1996) and a scaled S density starting model) and the P and density models obtained from an inversion with zero starting models for P velocity and density. The green curve is the correlation between the two density models and the blue curve is the correlation between the two P velocity models. The lower correlation between the P models compared to the density models shows that P models are slightly more dependent upon the starting model than density models.
